The lateral flow immunochromatographic assay (LFA) is an assay platform that is ideally suited for point-of-care (POC) use. Often termed a “dipstick” assay, the LFA format can be used for detection of antibody or antigen in a clinical sample. The LFA is particularly effective for diagnostics for global health and meets the World Health Organization’s ASSURED criteria for diagnostics for the developing world (Affordable, Sensitive, Specific, User friendly, Reliable and robust, Equipment-free and Deliverable to those who need it).

DxDiscovery is fully equipped for in-house fabrication of assays in LFA format. Fabrication equipment includes Biodot XYZ 3050 dispensing system, a Biodot guillotine strip cutter and a Biodot laminator. The laboratory is also equipped with densitometers for scanning of results from LFA assays.
